چکیده
Dune sands occupy large parts of Iraq, posing significant challenges for infrastructure building. Geotechnical research and stabilization dune soils are necessary to determine the engineering features these as a foundation material in consideration global growth construction activities, especially Iraq. The compressibility collapsibility key soil design works, which must be carefully analyzed. In this study, selected geotechnical properties, including compaction, compressibility, characteristics, compacted samples from city Tikrit were evaluated laboratory using specific range “cement kiln dust (CKD)” concentrations stabilizing agent. amounts CKD used study 4, 8, 12, 16, 20% by dry weight soil. results showed that adding improved compaction decreased amazingly eliminated collapsibility. quality treated with is very high, it recommended use works.

Seed mass, shape, and persistence in the soil seed bank of Israeli coastal sand dune flora
Question: Are seed mass and shape related to persistence in the soil seed bank among 54 species of the Israeli flora? Search method: Persistence was determined by soil seed bank investigations in which the fraction of non-germinated viable seeds was regarded as the persistent soil seed bank. When seedling emergence had ceased but before new seeds were shed, all soil from the upper 5 cm of 120 q...
متن کاملSoil seed banks, habitat heterogeneity, and regeneration strategies in a Mediterranean coastal sand dune
This study investigated the effects of microhabitat characteristics on soil seed bank structure, regeneration strategies, and plant composition in a Mediterranean coastal sand dune in Israel. Three different microhabitats were selected: (a) open patches between shrubs, (b) shrub understorey, and (c) open, disturbed patches in pedestrian trails. In each microhabitat two types of sampling plots w...
متن کاملPrediction of the soil-water characteristic curve of dune sand stabilized with SBR polymer and MICP process in the Jabal Kandi area
Introduction The geotechnical engineering problems involving unsaturated soils are included water flow, shear strength and volume change. Soil-water characteristic curve (SWCC) describes the constitutive relationship between soil suction and soil water content. SWCC may be determined directly or indirectly in the laboratory. Because of the various difficulties involved in the direct measuremen...
